Fountains of Youth

For years you have been hearing me say “drink your water”. It’s important to keep your body hydrated.

Drink to your Health. Did you know your body is supposed to be 80% water? Staying properly hydrated helps your brain, your muscles, and your organs work efficiently. It helps flush the toxins from your body, keeps your body wastes and fluids moving, and helps distinguish a raisin from a grape. And just so you know, coffee and sodas don’t count. In fact coffee and sodas lower your hydration level. You should drink a minimum of 8 eight ounce glasses of water a day unless otherwise directed by your physician.

Another Fountain of Youth is Juicing. Juicing can help keep your body healthier. It can help you to make sure you are getting the correct servings of all your vegetables and fruits and ample servings of Vitamin A, C, and E. Plus Fiber, Antioxidants, and Amino Acids. There’s a lot of information available on the internet to help target special needs like Arthritis, Auto Immune Disease, Low energy, and other personal needs. You simply have to look it up.

You can make a terrific Spinach, Kale, and Cucumber Base in a high end blender. It’s best to use Organic produce and either Filtered Water, Coconut Water, or Aloe Vera Juice to liquefy the mix. Then freeze this in ice cube trays for later use. You can also precut fruit to be frozen and used later in your drinks. If you use packaged fruit be sure to buy no sugar added fruit. You can also peel and slice bananas. That way you aren’t tempted to eat the whole thing. You can also pre-prep and freeze cucumbers, celery, and any other vegetable you might like. None of this takes long but it will save you valuable time on busy mornings.

Ready to get Healthier? Add your frozen Spinach cubes (no ice necessary), then celery, cucumber, bananas, tomatoes, blueberries and any other fruits you might like into your blender and add a liquid like Coconut Water, Aloe Juice, Almond Milk, or Greek Yogurt. Push the button and you’ve got a very Healthy drink in a glass. It’s so refreshing. You can even get extra protein by adding Chia Seeds. They are tiny but add a healthy punch of fiber and super protein and keep you more hydrated. They even help you loose weight, lower your blood sugar and cholesterol. These little guys also plump up and keep you full.

Be proactive about your health. Alkalize your body with fruits and vegetables and stay away from Acidic foods, white and processed foods, which cause inflammation and mucus in the body. It’s never too late to begin your Fountains of Youth program.

These juicing ideas are a perfect way to stay on your Pathway to Wellness.

Be well,
