Giving Thanks

It’s already Turkey Time again!!! It’s hard to believe all the little goblins have retired until next Halloween. Now it’s time to get ready for Fall and the beautiful color changes.

How about spending some quality time giving thanks for all your blessings.

This year has been very difficult for a lot of people. It has definitely been a year of transition for many. Now is the time to really think about what Thanksgiving really is… Giving Thanks.

And what better way of giving thanks than reaching out to those less fortunate than we are.

A lot of charities are hurting in this economy, but we can do a little extra when we put our hearts into it and help them out a bit. Here are a few suggestions.

Maybe you are tired of your old Holiday decorations and are looking for something new. I bet you could find a seniors home that would love to have them. Might be old decorations to you but they would be new to them. If not a seniors home then maybe Goodwill, the Salvation Army, or Veterans Association. These are all good places to give your Holiday goodies to. It has a trickle down effect. You donate it with love, someone else buys it (which helps the charity) and it gets to put a smile on a families face when they get to decorate with something new. Once again “something old is new again.”

I know I’ve said this to you before but maybe it’s time to go through your coat closet again or talk to your kids about clothes they’ve outgrown. Somebody out there can use them and sharing like this is a good thing.

Like to bake but don’t like what it does to your waistline. Get your family or a group of friends together and enjoy your “blessings” while you bake and then donate your baked goodies to a children's home or a family in need.

How about writing a letter of thanks to a mentor, parent, or someone you haven’t reached out to for awhile. Just knowing someone is thinking of them might brighten their day or make them feel needed or loved.

Please don’t let this season pass by without reaching out to someone in need or without Giving Thanks for all you’ve been given. You truly will feel different in your energy and spirit.

Isn’t that what it’s all about?

Be Well,

Tana
